Baby Alive Learns To Potty Doll

A few weeks ago when I went Black Friday shopping, and this was one of the toys selling like hotcakes. The Baby Alive; Learns to Potty doll, I would have normally found very odd as a parent (note: I don’t have kids), because who really needs a fake baby that pees and poops when there’s tons of parents out there that have kids that really do that?

Kids love this talking, peeing and pooping baby doll though, complete with a potty set and accessories.

I came upon the last three Baby Alive dolls while doing my Black Friday Christmas shopping at Wal-Mart and immediately called up my boyfriend to see if this was something his daughter wanted for Christmas. In the middle of making the phone call two women come up and grab the last two, so I immedialy I would just go ahead, grab the last doll and get it. When people are swooping them up that fast you know it’s a hot item.

I paid $39.99 for the doll at Wal-Mart, a man in line offered me $10 to give him the doll, and I found an even better deal on Amazon for $17.99.

For my own entertainment, I kept pushing her bracelet all the way home to listen to all the noises she makes, any adult would probably find the authentic peeing sounds a kicker!

Don’t Know What’s Better…Wal-Mart or Outlet Stores?

So a few weeks ago I was shopping at Wal-Mart just as they were marking down all their summer things on clearance. I managed to grab more than a few outfits for the boyfriend’s 6 year old daughter for a little under $10 including $1 shorts and $3 shirts. For me and the boyfriend…$1 NASCAR Hats and $5 shirts. (I love NASCAR!)

I love getting good things for cheap. It’s almost like a drug for me sadly enough. Well being a woman, it’s automatically altered in my genes to own hundreds upon hundreds of shoes and purses, so you can imagine the shop-gasm I got when my mother came home from JCPenny Outlet with these cute summer shoes marked down to $1.99:

Not to mention, I went to ANOTHER Wal-Mart near my house (I usually shop at the one by my work) when Hurricane Ike aftermath came through Ohio and knocked out everyone’s electric for a week and found racks upon racks of clearance items including solid colored t-shirts for $3.99 and this awesome little AC/DC shirt for a whopping $1:

So for all you cheap shoppers like me, do you like superstores like Wal-Mart or outlet stores better?

Kung Fu Panda Pillow Offer

My boyfriend’s 6 year old daughter loves having Eggo products for breakfast. After only two boxes of her two favorite breakfast items, the mini pancakes and the mini waffles we sent in two proofs of purchase and a check for $4.99 and got this cute little thing:

So don’t ever underestimate the cute little deals you can get off the back of food boxes!

Dog Beds & Closeout Deals

Oso got a brand new bed. It was long overdue and it didn’t take him long at all to realize that it was there for him. Unfortunately, he picked up a small case of flea infestation, so he had to go to the groomer’s and the bed still has yet to be sprayed down with flea killer.

Kennedy and I went on a shopping spree at Meijer’s last Saturday. Everything was on sale from 50-70% off because the store on our side of town is closing down. She made out with toys, I hit a race memorabilia gold mine. (More specifically #20 Tony Stewart gold mine.)

Unfortunate for me, the sale included the candy so I walked out with a box of Pop Rocks and a few Nerd’s rope’s. I am so addicted to those Nerd ropes now, I’m ready to go back and get another box.

Bargain Shopping

As much as I wanted to sit at home and watch the race yesterday afternoon, the boyfriend was driving me to the brink of insanity, so instead of severely injuring him and losing my potential travel buddy for the Michigan race in August, I just decided to leave the house and go shopping to de-stress.

It was bad enough that all we had to drink in our fridge was beer and milk so I began my shopping spree at Sam’s Club. I love Sam’s Club more than any normal person should. When I can walk out with 3-30 pack cases of water for under $10, I am in love. When I can buy a box with 12 packs of gum in it for $7, I’m in heaven.

Sometimes I think I go broke bargain shopping because I love buying things for cheap. I refuse to pay for anything that I do not severely need in life for full price, that’s just me.

I took the gift card that the girls at work got me for my birthday and decided to shop it up at Kohl’s. Since it is spring, winter clothes were on clearance and I decided to stock up for next year. After all, I will thank myself next year when I won’t have to buy a few $20 sweaters when I got more than a few today at $3 a sweater. That almost made me pee my pants with delight that I got such a deal on sweaters. It’s still cold here in Ohio so I can technically wear them until the nice weather rolls in. I’m wearing a very cute blue one right now as I type…

While I am sharing bargain shopping stories, I went to Wal-Mart today after work to pick up some more of my Slim Quick diet pills and struck a gold mine of Easter merchandise that was 75% off since obviously the holiday has passed. The stuffed animals were all $1.85 when they were originally $4.95 and $7.95 and Easter eggs filled with tattoos for kids were 50 cents that were normally $2.50 so I grabbed a few to shove in the kids’ basket for next year. I still see it as a deal even though I cannot do anything with the stuff until next year. For one, I won’t have to buy anything full price for Easter next year, and two, I don’t have to go Easter shopping with the 10,000 other people that seem to go the same time I do.

Just Call Me “Mrs. Claus”

How was everyone’s Christmas?

I’m happy because this is my first Christmas that I am able to afford to buy everyone Christmas gifts since starting and graduating college. I’m very happy, and I was even more estatic when I got to watch everyone open their gifts from me.

Gifts for Lover:

The Simpson’s Season 1The Simpson’s Season 2
The Simpson’s Season 3The Simpson’s Season 4The Simpson’s Season 5

Budweiser Gift Pack
Budweiser Gift Pack- It came with the pail, 4 glasses with the Budweiser logo engraved in the glasses, and 12 coaster’s. Very, very cool.

All in all, all his gifts probably cost about $800 alone. Mind you, my income is well-to-do, but I am in no way RICH. He’s the most spoiled boyfriend in the history of boyfriend-hood. So where’s my diamond? My finger is getting cold!

Gifts for Lover’s Daughter:

Digital Arts & Crafts Studio

Can we say…SPOILED? Yeah we can…I am going to be forced to play with each and every piece of toy, and she will probably end up playing with all of them in one weekend because she will be too excited about everything. I hope I don’t ever have children of my own, because they would be just as spoiled as her…and then some!

The most stressful thing about the holidays is trying to get Lover’s daughter around to everyone. The stops between Christmas Eve and Christmas Day consist of my parents house, my aunt’s house, lover’s grandma & grandpa’s, lover’s mom, lover’s dad & step-mom and then we have to take his daughter back to her mother’s house which is on the other side of town. Dear God, why does gas have to be $3 a gallon??? *crazy*

Santa Claus Is In Town

Yesterday morning I woke up early and made breakfast for me and Kennedy. Thank God for frozen pancakes, because that seems to be my doom when it comes to making breakfast foods. Lover was going to be at work all day so we decided to go shopping for his Christmas present. I will not divulge details because you never know when he might be in the mood to stumble upon this journal entry and try to find out what he’s getting. *wink* I will say though that we went to the mall and stopped at a few stores. Kennedy really wanted to stop and play in the Kids Play Area, I really wanted to get going on some more shopping and get this excursion over with, but of course when it comes to her, I give in and just can’t say “No”

Santa & KennedyI’m so glad I did decided to stop because just when I sat down Santa Claus walked by. I completely forgot I wanted to take her to get her picture taken with Santa. Kennedy of course being just as alert that Santa walked by asked if we could go see him. The line was just as long as it was when we wanted to see the Easter Bunny, so I knew my schedule for the next few hours just filled up. It’s horrible how I blended in with the mother’s, standing there in line trying to fix up Kennedy’s hair and shirt to make sure she looked nice for her photo.

I wished I would of gone to Target before I went to the mall, because after meeting Santa I found a cute outfit on sale…sparkle jeans for only $10.50 and a white shirt with black polka dots and ruffled sleeves a whooping $4.15. Oh my poor piggy bank!

We did end up finding the perfect Christmas gift for Daddy though. We quickly got home, wrapped it and put it underneath the tree. We are both excited beyond belief and cannot wait until Christmas when he open’s it up and see’s how awesome his gift really is.

Thanksgiving Vacation Plans

My computer crashed yesterday and I now just got it working again. I’m sitting here now waiting for my iTunes to reinstall. I want the new Taylor Swift song and I think I may download some Children Christmas songs for Kennedy since she seems to be getting in the Christmas spirit a little early.

I am currently making plans on where I am going to shop for Black Friday. I have most people in my boyfriends family taken care of except for his grandparents and mother, and everyone in my family taken care of except for the parents. This is the first year where I will be done with Christmas shopping early. Cheers for me! Usually I’m so last minute…I’m freaking out days before Christmas.

Kennedy’s Hermit Crab died a few days ago…there’s a new Christmas gift to add to the list. It will break my heart to tell her it died, cause I know she will get sad and ask questions. She did the same thing when her goldfish died. In a way though…I feel like it’s teaching a valuable lesson…as gruesome as it sounds, I just don’t exactly know what that valuable lesson might be. I know I had to learn about death when I had fish, gerbils, hamster’s and a guinea pig, and they died.

OK maybe I will make her Dad tell her about the hermit crab…
