A Buzz For Blog Marketing

I’ve really been getting into the buzz of blogging lately. With my fourth blog getting published this month, my blog marketing activities have increased immensely.

For those of you that are reading this right now thinking, “God this girl has no life”, yes…that might be true, but I’m getting paid to have no life. Yeah, I’m getting paid to blog and do blog advertising. I’m a skeptic by nature, but this situation is an exception to my non-trusting personality.

I’m just using the advantage of loving to create websites and blog, into having it to make a little extra money. There are more than a few websites that I have joined this past year to accomplish those goals of getting that extra buck.

I recently joined Snapbomb, which is one of those websites that I am making an income with blogging. For those speculator’s that don’t believe it and think that it’s just another scam…it doesn’t hurt to give it a try. Most internet scams start out with making you pay first, because they supposedly want to make sure you are being serious about getting into their money making business venture. Well, with Snapbomb, you can sign up for an account for free and once your blog is approved, you can get right to the blogging matter.

If you try it and I’m wrong, feel free to personally yell at me!

Tips On Getting Feedback For Your Website/Blog

Here’s some tips I have learned from blogging over the years on how to get people to participate on your website and/or blog. I struggled for a while with trying to find a writing theme and avenue to go down to get people to listen to me, and what better way to get people to listen to you then to write about how you are going to get them to listen to you….kind of like how a presidential candidate explains what they are going to do for the country of sorts.

  • Pinging and Link backs: When you can, link other people’s blogs on your posts. If you found information for your post topic on their site, give them credit and a link back to their page. It will most likely ping them on their site and it will automatically get your link on their site without having to wait for approval, thus gaining more exposure for your site. (Example: I do this with my NASCAR blog a lot, like on my Ron Hornaday Admits To Steroid Use post. Now go checkout the web address I pinged here on this post and see my link appear at the bottom of the post where the comments are…it’s the magic of the ping!)
  • Ask Questions & Stir Up Controversy and Debates: I always like to ask controversial questions to get people riled up and wanting to share their opinions with you. Be respectful to your visitors after they share their comments with you and respond back to comments posted on your site. A healthy debate always gets people coming back to add in their two cents, not to mention if the controversy gets them extremely angry they will post your link on other sites encouraging other people to go to your site and back up their opinions, thus getting you more visitor hits. If you are a goody two shoes, like I tend to get very rarely, then ask open ended questions like “What do you think?” (Example: I know with ViewfinderWeb and his political blog there is many opportunities open for debate with the current 2008 Presidential Election going on.)
  • Leave Feedback On Other Websites/Blogs: Find other sites with the same content or theme as your website and participate on their blog as often as you can. (Example: Like this website I just found called Blogging Girl. I visit this website often and when I have time, I leave a comment. Most will return the favor, thus giving you that extra visitor in the blog-o-sphere.)
  • Stay Updated!: If your active on your site one minute and disappear for long periods of time, those visitors and readers you worked so hard to get will loose interest and delete your link from their favorites lists. So like a 30 year marriage, keep it spicy! Change up the look and layout every 6 months or so, post a new article at least once a week and more if you have the time!

If you have any other tips or tricks to share for all you succesful, professional, and or experienced bloggers out there, feel free to comment and share, I will be adding all of these to the Resources page soon.

Free Publicity For Your Own Blog With Memes

A meme (pronounced /miːm/) consists of any unit of cultural information, such as a practice or idea, that gets transmitted verbally or by repeated action from one mind to another. Examples include thoughts, ideas, theories, practices, habits, songs, dances and moods and terms such as race, culture, and ethnicity. Memes propagate themselves and can move through a “culture” in a manner similar to the behavior of a virus. As a unit of cultural evolution, a meme in some ways resembles a gene. (Source: Wikipedia)
