Gobble Gobble

Wednesday was my last day of work before the Thanksgiving Holiday. I put in my 2-week notice for work the day before. Now that I know there is no going back, I’m starting to get a little nervous & anxious. What if I’m making a mistake? What if I don’t like my new job? Doubting questions just started to float in my head. Maybe it was just nerves? I was glad though that I could put all my worries aside for the 4 day Holiday break off.

On Thanksgiving Day, I got to sleep in with the hubby. I love it whenever I get to do simple cheesy things like that as much as we like. Our first stop of many on the “Visiting The Families Tour” was hubby’s Dad’s house for Thanksgiving lunch as I like to call it. We spent most of the afternoon there just relaxing. I got to watch Shrek 3 for the first time. I didn’t know Justin Timberlake had a voice over role, otherwise I would of watched when it first came out seeing that he is going to be my husband one day!

The second stop was to hubby’s Mom’s house, then lastly to my family for Thanksgiving dinner. Someday I hope to have a big enough house to where we can have Thanksgiving dinner and everyone over at our house so we don’t have to make 10,000 different stops.

Toys R Us Shopping

I decided to go shopping the next morning for Black Friday. Keep my story in mind for those of you that essentially don’t have children yet. I got to Toys R Us at 6AM and the store was packed and the line was wrapped around the store. I practically stood in line and shopped while the line moved. Plus, it was great bonding time for me and my mom. I did accomplish to take advantage of many great sales so my two hour wait in line was worth it. By the time we left Toys R Us to go grocery shopping at Wal-Mart, the crowd had died down significantly. Probably because all the stuff that was on sale was gone. Daddy decided he wanted to continue the family bonding and took me to Applebee’s for lunch. The calorie battle continued as the hubby took me to Texas Roadhouse for dinner before we picked up Kennedy for the weekend.

I herd on the radio later on that Meijer had a super deal on Spongebob Squarepants TV’s and two ladies got into a fight over the last one. I can’t imagine being one of those crazy mom’s trying to get my kid the hot toy for Christmas, but I’d sure as heck try my damnedest!

I had to spend today recovering from my Black Friday shopping escapade. We had a family breakfast with my parents, the hubby, & Kennedy at TeeJay’s. Kennedy told my Dad that she didn’t celebrate Thanksgiving so Daddy insisted on having another Thanksgiving dinner for her and my cousin Edward, that missed out on the turkey on Thanksgiving Day.

Thanksgiving Vacation Plans

My computer crashed yesterday and I now just got it working again. I’m sitting here now waiting for my iTunes to reinstall. I want the new Taylor Swift song and I think I may download some Children Christmas songs for Kennedy since she seems to be getting in the Christmas spirit a little early.

I am currently making plans on where I am going to shop for Black Friday. I have most people in my boyfriends family taken care of except for his grandparents and mother, and everyone in my family taken care of except for the parents. This is the first year where I will be done with Christmas shopping early. Cheers for me! Usually I’m so last minute…I’m freaking out days before Christmas.

Kennedy’s Hermit Crab died a few days ago…there’s a new Christmas gift to add to the list. It will break my heart to tell her it died, cause I know she will get sad and ask questions. She did the same thing when her goldfish died. In a way though…I feel like it’s teaching a valuable lesson…as gruesome as it sounds, I just don’t exactly know what that valuable lesson might be. I know I had to learn about death when I had fish, gerbils, hamster’s and a guinea pig, and they died.

OK maybe I will make her Dad tell her about the hermit crab…
